A genealogy provided by Paul Herzog (a Reifschneider-Herzog descendant) lists the mother of Friedrich Reifschneider as Maria Barbara Schmidt. A genealogy provided by Gene Lehmann lists the mother of Friedrich Reifschneider as Henrietta Wick, the second wife of Friedrich married in 1867. The 1857 Kukkus censis lists Henrietta Wick as the spouse in the household, although that is 3 years before the birth of Friedrich. We conclude that sometime after 1857 Henrietta died and sometime after that Johann Konrad married Maria Barbara. Somewhere in that time period Friedrich was born.
As we have no other documentation, two possibilities exist:
1) The family genealogy listed as the mother the woman who raised Friedrich. or
2) The date of the marriage to Maria Barbara Schmidt is incorrect.
Both possibilities are equally likely.
The 1886 Kukkus Family List has Maria Barbara Schuetz as the step-mother of Johann Jost Reifschneider who was born 27 Oct 1857. Thus Maria Barbara would have to have married Johann Jost's father after that.

A little confusing. The 1886 Kukkus family List has Christina Margaretha on line 2985 and then Catherina Margaretha on line 2991, appearing to reference the same person. A genealogy provided by Wladimir Kukkus refers to the same person as Elisabeth Margaretha. | Kukkus, Katharina Elisabeth (I5079)

A possibility that this is the same as Johann Klaus who appears on the Kuhlberg list as being born 1760, does not show on the first settler list. Which would mean the first settler list is in error, as it does not show any children for Wilhelm Kloss(Klaus) | Klaus, Adam (I2194)

According to Dr. Pleve's letter of 15.09.1997, Johannes Reifschneider, was orphaned during his way
from Oranienbaum (near St. Petersberg) to the Volga region. He was adopted by the family of
Johann Heinrich Weber, who settled in the Norka colony. Johannes married Maragaretha Schweitzer
of Kukkus, and moved to Kukkus. Pleve states that Margaretha's parents were Johann Friedrich
Schweitzer and Catharina. The above letter was provided with Dr. Pleve's Kukkus Reifschneider
chart. It should be noted that Johannes Reifschneider's last name was misspelled in translation of the

According to the Kukku 1811 census, Georg FIlling moved into Kukkus from Beideck in 1798, after the 1798 census was completed. His surname may be well butchered in the Russian translation. He moved into the Georg Volk household HH41. Georg Volk's only daughter was 13 at the time, thus he was not a son- in-law. He has not been identified in any furthur Russsian records. | Filling, Georg (I15972)
