  JDS NOTES: Obituary taken from the August 4, 2013 edition of The Fresno Bee, Fresno, Fresno County, CA, USA: WILLIAM JOSEPH "JOE" DORRIS - Joe, age 87, of Fresno, Ca was born January 18, 1926, in Tulare, Ca passed away on July 22, 2013. He attended Tulare High and Sequoia College. William was employed with Tulare Police Department and the Fresno Police Department in December 1953. He survived two torpedoed ships in Atlantic and South Pacific. William served in US Merchant Marine World War II. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean [sic] Rose Dorris and his parents, Cue and Audie (Cotton) Dorris. He is survived by daughters, Sherry Dorris, Vickie Gonzales, Kathy Sierra; and three granddaughters, Hope, Eden, Skylar and companion, Betty Brase, of 38 years. William was buried at Clovis Cemetery, on July 26, 2013. Thanks to Garry and Sandee Snow and Jim Acosta and other numerous friends.
