SNEAR, James Henry - age 75, of Swartz Creek, died July 7, 2023. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Friday, July 14, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Visitation will be held from 10 AM - 12 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Food Bank of Eastern Michigan (www.fbem.org). James was born December 24, 1947 in Clare. He retired from General Motors and was a licensed builder, which was his true passion. James loved traveling the world with his wife, Dawn. He also enjoyed reading and hunting. Surviving are: wife, Dawn of Swartz Creek; son, James (Amy) Snear of Clare; step-son, Jared (Alycia) Wazny of Gainsville, GA; step-daughter, Kristen (Andrew) Spears of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Kayden, Gavin, Kaylee, Leland, Kendyl, and Lucas; twin brother, John (Valerie) Snear; sisters, Shirley Mohowitsch, Sylvia Burgess and Yvonne Haring; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Brian Snear; father, Roy Snear, and mother, Josephine Gillespie. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.

WILLIAM SNEAR VICTIM OF HEART ATTACK JANUARY 13
Drops Dead in Road When Returning Home From Clare

Relatives and friends of William SNEAR, for many years a resident of Wise Twp, were
shocked
Wednesday of last week to learn of his sudden death while he was returning from
Clare to his home
southeast of the city. Mr. SNEAR had been shopping in Clare and rode home with Floyd
TUBBS who lives
5 1/2 miles southeast of here, and while walking from there to his nearby home
suffered an attack of
coronary thrombosis and dropped dead in the road.

William SNEAR, son of Harmon and Connie SNEAR was born April 27, 1865 in Erie
County, PA and
departed this life January 13, 1943 after a heart attack at the age of 77y, 9m, and
17d. When he was a
small boy he moved with his parents to Wise Twp in Isabella County, where he has
since resided.

In 1908 he was united in marriage to Cora ROWLING of Ashley, MI and to this union
were born four
children: Mirlie of Clare, Roy, now in the US Service, and Tressa and Alfred, who
preceded him in death.

Besides his wife and two sons he leaves to mourn his departure four grandchildren; 1
brother, Frank
SNEAR of Clare; two sisters, Mrs. Lila WOOD of Farwell, and Mrs. Carrie HERSEY of
Oregon; and a host of
relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Loomis Gospel Mission at 2:00 Saturday afternoon
with Reverend J.
Wesley TEALE officiating and interment in the Loomis Cemetery.

HERMAN SNEAR
Herman Snear was born in Germany 3 July 1836 and came to this
country in 1857, settling in Erie, PA. In 1861 he was married to MissConey NITZEL who was also a native of Germany. Their married lifeextended over a period of 39 years, the wife dying in Oct 1900. In1867 they moved to Michigan, settling in Tuscola Co, where theyresided until 1883 when they came to Wise, Isabella Co, where theylived until the death summons came. To them were born ten children,six boys and four girls. Three of the boys, Charlie, Joseph and John, diedbefore the parents. There still survive three sons, George, William andFrank, who reside in Wise. All the daughters are still living: Mrs. Wm.LEOSH and Mrs. James HERSEY of Wise, Mrs. Len WOOD or Gilmore,and Mrs. Wm. JOHNSON of Farwell.
Mr. SNEAR was a member of the GAR, having volunteered for his
adopted country in 1861 and followed the flag for three years.
Since the death of his wife, he had resided with his son George. On
Sunday last he seemed in his usual health and had spent part of the dayvisiting at another son's. When he returned home he lay down uponthe bed and was there found dead, the end coming evidently without astruggle.
The funeral was held at the ME Church in Loomis, services being
conducted by Rev. PARSONS of Coleman, and interment in cemetery atLoomis. The very large attendance at the funeral attested the worth ofthe deceased and the high esteem in which he was held.Date: 23 Nov 2002
