PARENTS: Many online trees show Robert Keeler and Jane Wood. The Burdick book identifies her father as the Robert Keeler who returned to England. On familysearch.org there is a baptism record for Robert Keeler in Sandwich, Kent, England dated 2 Mar 1706. There is also a marriage record in the nearby village of Nonington, Kent, England showing robert Keeler married the widow Jane Wood on 31 May 1733. Hiowever, we have no evidence that these records refer to the same people. | Keeler, Mary (I6945)

Paul J. Short, age 77, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 peacefully at his home, with his wife Helen by his side. Per 1959 obit for Leah Elizabeth, her sisters Mary Beckwith, Ethel Gordon and Gladys Burt all lived in Flint.
Thus far not able to identify any of these people on the 1920 or 1930 census.
Another possibility:
Mary J Beckwith, born 14 Mar 1891 d 12/24/1980 in Lapeer. The dob would match the 1910 census and the marr record, although not the Mar 1892 on the 1900 census. | Gordon, Mary Jane (I4631)

per Canadian Quaker records Abner Chase along with his son Amasa and other children joined the Yarmouth, Ontario congregation in 1835. Based on numerous DNA matches to the Amasa Chase line, the John Mills/Abigail Minard line and the Isaac Huff/Sarah tripp line (all residents of Yarmouth Township) we believe that Amasa Chase was the illegitimate father of Mary Mills. The mother of Mary Mills would then have to be the daughter of James Mills (son of John/Abigial) and Jemima Huff (dau of Isaace Huff/Sarah Tripp). This is the only plausible scenario which explains the huge number of DNA matches to these 3 lines in Yarmouth Township and also explains Mary Mills using the Mills name. It also gives reason as to why Amasa Chase's sister, Phoebe (who lived in Tuscola County, Michign) took in two of Mary's daughters, Anna and Lydia Degroat, after Mary died in Tuscola, Michigan. I have been unable to find any record of a probate action filed in Tuscola County in regards to Mary's three 'orphaned' children. The father of Mary's three children, Anson Degroat, apparently abandoned the children. He remarried and moved to Kent County without them!
The 3rd daughter Mary ended up in the household of Eli McConnell, who had earlier moved from Yarmouth Township, Ontario to Lapeer County, Michigan. | Chase, Amasa (I6720)

Per family oral history, Elmer Morris was an immigrant from Ireland, who was wanted by Irish authorities. He went by Henry. He abandoned his wife and child at date unknown. Of course, this is in conflict with baby Morris's birth record, which says that Elmer was born in the USA. We do not know which is correct. Marriage cert has Elmer D Morris, family oral history has Elmer Henry Morris. Birth record of Baby Morris has Dad's birth year of 1861. Marr cert has birth year of 1866. Delayed birth cert of Harry Morris has dad born 1870. | Morris, Elmer (I3829)

per Terry---George Andrew Seeley (the 3rd) born 16 Feb 1902 in Bay City. died 20 Oct 1951 Bay City. Burried at Elm Lawn in same Plat at his Uncle Walter Schultz. Married Elsie Woodard 18 may 1935 in Bay City. No kids. Elsie had a son before marrying George. Elsie used to live in AuGres during the summer months and would visit Mom at the store. I think she was a lot younger than George?
from hyatt funeral home records:---George A. Seeley (the third) Born in Bay City. Died Oct. 20, 1951 at U. of M. Ann Arbor from Respiratory Paralysis. His parents George Seeley and Harriet Schultz. Wife Elsie gave the info. Buried Elm Lawn.
""4/16/08 Terry had a conversation with Dorothy Seeley (daughter of Harry Seeley)--There is a story about Pretty Boy Floyd (Dillinger).(Floyd--Dillinger are two different people)??? He was in Bay City. He went to a gas station (probably to rob it??) anyway he took the gas station attendent hostage. He went to Detroit before he let the gas station attendent go. I think they said he gave him money to get a bus home. Anyway.. gas attendent was George Seeley III. This happened in the 1920's. The gas station was at 124 Garfield in Bay City. For some reason the address was remembered in the story. Mom once told me years ago a story that she thought someone was held up at gunpoint but thought the person died. I never could find any story to that. But I may not have been looking right. She was not sure about the story and who the relative was. So I wonder if this is the story. She told me tonight it kinda sounds familiar at least the kidnapping part of it. I would think the newspaper would have a story about it.
George Seeley III died of respiratory paralysis per funeral home record. He fell down a flight of stairs at his home and broke his neck. Mom thought she had told me that before. Well the more I think about it, I think she did tell me. I am getting very forgetful anymore.
George Seeley III was a joker. Always kidding you said Dorothy. He used to say you are not a Seeley, you are a VonZulch. Dorothy said they all thought he was joking. Dorothy said that none of them thought there was anything to his VonZulch comments. He would say it often.
Carl Woodard is George Seeley's step son that killed himself. His wife Elsie Woodward was divorced. George Seeley III nickname was Spike Seeley.""

Per the Phelps Family book Simeon removed to Cato, New York at the age of nine with others. I believe that he moved with his father, as there are two Simeon Phelps in the Brutus census records, which is right next to Cato. The note in the Phelps book that his father died in Connecticut in 1786 has to be an error. The Phelps book also gives date and birthplace of 1st three children in Burton (Now called Allegeny) New York. Dates of birth were 1814, 1819 and 1823. I am suspicious of that entry as he appears in Cayuga County in the 1810 thru 1840 census, which is 150 miles away. I believe Burton is a transcription or typographical error and the places of birth were actually Brutus. However, I am unable to find citations for the birth records.
1810 Census age 26-44
1820 census age 26-44
1830 census age 40-50
1840 census age 50-60
All of these ages are consistent with being born 1781
Found 3 deed records for Simeon Phelps in Cayuga County. One in 1813 was labeled Jr. The two in 1820 and 1822 were not labeled Jr or Sr. | Phelps, Simeon Jr (I6501)
