5801 We do have a record of a Katherine Hulse born NY in 1795 to Thomas Huls. But is this the same person?
On the 1850 census the households after Joshua & Catherine Rawling are Gilbert Hulse, Jabez Hulse and Reuben Hulse. According to the Hulse Web Site these 3 Hulse's along with Katherine match up by name and age and birthstate with 4 of the children of Thomas Hulse and Leah Weatherby. Therefore we conclude that Katherine is indeed the child of Thomas Hulse. Also telling is the fact that their son Jabez is given the middle name of Weatherby, apparently named after Katherine's mother.
Hulse, Katherine (I3914)

5802 We do not have definitive proof that the Anna Margaretha Weigandt born 1823 in Kukkus to Johannes Weigandt is the same person as the Anna Margaretha Weigandt born 1823 who married Johannes Reitz. However, circumstantially it makes sense. We have the same name, the same birth year, the same village and the continuity of that name and age through the 3 Kukkus censuses of 1834, 1850 and 1857.

Records from this time and place are simply incomplete. But based on what we know, it is most likely that Anna Margaretha Weigandt is the daughter of Johannes Weigandt. Perhaps eventually we will find records to confirm or to dispute that, but for now I am listing Anna Margaretha in the genealogy under Johannes Weigandt.
Weigandt, Anna Margaret (I5854)

5803 We have no confirmation that the Benajah Bennett in Lebanon who married Zerviah Crane in 1769 was the same person as the Benajah who eventully lived in Caldwell, New York. Nor that, if he was Zerviah would be the same wife who was 66 in 1819. Unknown (I7494)

5804 We have no documentary evidence that Caleb is her father. There are a few small dna matches between descendants of Caleb, however cannot be considered solid evidence. Tripp, Sarah (I7019)

5805 We have the Campbell and Lounsbury families moving from Brant, Ontario to Clare County, Michigan. The naming patterns are very similar between the Lounsbury's in Ontario and the Lounsbury and Campbell families in Clare County. It is very possible that two Campbell brothers (John Alexander and Horatio) married two Lounsbury sisters (Mary C and Sarah) and then both families moved to Clare County. Several on-line trees show these relationships, but I have not yet found explicit proof.

The name Sarah Lounsbury appears on George Campbell, Alexander Campbell and Major Campbell marriage record. The name Lounsburg appears on Harriet Campbell death record.

Some genealogies have her born nov 1828 in Brant County, Ontario.

The book "Some Descendants of Richard Lounsberry" by John Freund shows William B Lounsbury and Sarah Cory having a daughter Sarah in 1833, but no spouse is given.

"Cory's of America Ancestors and Descendants" compiled by Al Bertus Cory, 1991 edition. On p.25 Sarah dau of Thomas Cory married William Launsbury; Their child #6, Sarah married Horatio Campbell and they lived in Michigan.

Sarahs death certificate lists Edward Lounsbury as father, but the first name could be an error, or it could invalidate the hints in the previous paragraphs?
Lounsbury, Sarah (I6043)

5806 We know from Edmunds will that he had a son named Levi. We also know from Lydia Sherman that she had a father named Levi. There are multiple Levi's with different birth and death dates and scant records on them. Abigail is the spouse of one of them, so she may not be right. We do know that the DNA flows through Edmund, thru his son Levi and then through Lydia, as we have multiple matches to this line.

Levi Sherman in Cayuga County last appears on the 1810 census. His son, Levi gives birthdates of 1810 (in 1816), 1817 (in 1860), 1815 (in 1870) and 1810 (in 1880). Thus levi died, say 1810-1817.

Levi's daughter Lydia was born in Vermont. Levi (of Danby, Vt) & Abigail married in Strafford, Vermont.

Abigails gravestone (pic on findagrave) is is inscribed "In Memory of
Abigail, Consort of Levi
Sherman, who died June
2nd, 1791, aged 40 years"

FamilySearch has birth of 1741, based on 1744 baptism at age of 3 in British Colonial North America. No source given.

Family Search has marr to Abigail in 1784. No source given.

Another Levi Sherman (son of Daniel & Ruth Howard) was b. 3 Sep 1776 in Danby, according to birth records. Family search shows he is the one who married Aurilli Pennock.

Sherman, Levi (I8308)

5807 We only know this person by name through a note in the 1798 census as the deceased father of Johann Georg. Based on the date of birth of Johann Georg, 1784, his father had to be born prior to 1767, thus he had to be listed on the 1767 census. There were two Felsing(er) familes on the 1767 census and each has one possible match to Johannes. Johann Georg Felsinger born 1761, appears on the 1798 Krasnoyar census as the deceased father of Konrad Felsinger born 1784. Johann Konrad Felsing born 1759, appears on the 1767 Paulskaya census, but appears nowhere in 1798.

Johannes was the deceased husband of the deceased first wife of Johann Peter Debus according to the note on the entry for his son Johann Georg (who was living in the household of Johann Peter Debus) in the 1798 census. Johann Peter Debus had a son with his second wife in 1791, which means that his first wife died before 1791. His first wife only married Johann Peter after her first husband Johannes had died, therefore Johannes had to die before 1791, most likely a few years before. As his son was born 1784, his death date had to be between 1784 and 1791.
Felsing, Johannes (I6190)

5808 We strongly suspect that The Anna Margaretha Heinrich born 1822 and showing on the Kukkus 1834 census as the daughter of Wilhelm Anton Heinrich is the same person as the Anna Margaretha Heinrich born 1822 and showing on the Kukkus 1850 census as spouse of Johann Heinrich Krumm and also the same person as the Anna Margaretha Heinrich born 1822 and showing on the 1857 Kukkus census as the wife of Konrad Maser based on the following facts:

1) Joahnn Heinrich Krumm died 1849 and his widow Anna Margaretha is living in 1850 in household 87 with two Krumm children, Johannes and Christina.Konrad Maser, a widower, is living in HH 90. All of this per the 1850 Kukkus census.

2) In 1857 the Krumm children, Johannes and Christina are living in what was household 87 (called HH 100 in 1857) alone, aged 14 and 12. Anna Margaretha is living three Households away in HH 103 with Konrad Maser. In 1850, Konrad Maser lived in HH 90 as a widower. In 1857 HH 90 is relabeled as HH 103. In 1850 the widow and widower are living 3 households apart. In 1857 the children are still in the same Krumm household, but Anna has moved in with the widower in the Maser household.

3) The continuity of the same name, same birth year and same village on 3 consecutive censuses in Kukkus, 1834, 1850 and 1857 strongly suggests that all 3 entries refer to the same person.

Records from this time and place are simply incomplete. But based on what we know, it is most likely that Anna Margaretha is the daughter of Wilhelm Anton. Perhaps eventually we will find records to confirm or to dispute that, but for now I am listing Anna Margaretha in the genealogy under Wilhelm Anton Heinrich.
Heinrich, Anna Margaret (I5833)

5809 We strongly suspect that The Anna Margaretha Kukkus born 1800 is the daughter of Johann Philip Kukkus based on the following facts:

1) On the 1798 census their was only one Kukkus surnamed family in the Volga colonies. That was Johann Philip Kukkus of the village of Kukkus. That is the only family she could have come out of.

2) However, within that family, Johann Philip did have some teenage sons. Konrad age 19 in 1800 and Johannes age 16 in 1800. It is possible that one of them could have been the father. Then Johann Philip would be the grandfather.

But with that possibility in mind, i think that it is more likely that Anna Margaretha was the daughter of Johann Philip.

Records from this time and place are simply incomplete. But based on what we know, it is most likely that Anna Margaretha is the daughter of Johann Philip. Perhaps eventually we will find records to confirm or to dispute that, but for now I am listing Anna Margaretha in the genealogy under Johann Philip Kukkus.

Pugh, William Howard (I6255)

5879 William Hosford was born in England date unknown. He married Florence Hayward in Beaminster, Dorsetshire on 21 Jan 1620/21. She was baptized in Beaminster on 14 Apr 1594.

William and Florence migrated to the colonies in 1633, settling in Dorchester. In 1635 he moved to Windsor.

Florence died at Windsor 20 Aug 1641.

William remarried by 1650 to Jane, the widow of Henry Foulkes.

About 1654 William returned to England without his wife Jane, with the hope that she would join him at a later date. Which she did in 1655 or 1656.

Sometime after 1655, William Hosford died in England. His widow Jane died in England sometime after 15 Jan 1671.

The above information from the Great Migration Begins book series.

5880 William West died intestate in Boone County. Probate was filed 30 Sept 1845. Levi Parks appointed administrator. Packet #629. The packet itself is not online with familysearch.org nor do I have a copy of it. West, William (I5801)

5881 Williams parentage in England has led to much confusion and various on-line genealogies which are unproven. We have two clues as to where Williams family lived in England.

In Newport Pagnall, Buckinghamshire, England on 17 Apr 1639 William Odell and Edward Hartley were in a fight in a churchyard. Odell ended up being stabbed in the arm. They both ended up being cited in the church records for the fight. The conclusion to the church record was entered on 17 Oct 1639 "Absunt Nova Anglia" meaning that both parties were absent in New England. As there was only one William Odell known to be in New England in this time period, we must conclude that the gentleman in this fight was our William Odell. This also tells us that William left England between 17 Apr 1637 and 17 Oct 1639.

Clue # 2. Benjamin and Mary Turney were with William in both Concord and Fairfield. Benjamin Turney and Mary Odell were married 12 July 1630 in Salford, Bedfordshire. Therefore we conclude that William Odell and Mary Odell are somehow related and that Williams family lived in or near Salford or Newport Pagnell (which two localities are about 6 miles apart). We know from Mary's genealogy that she had no brother named William, but she did have 3 uncles Richard, Thomas and William either of whom could be Williams father. Both Richard Odell and John Odell in Newport Pagnell, Bedfordshire had a child named William, but both Williams had children in England after 1640 thus eliminating them. There are numerous Odell families in this area and time period. The Baptism registers have many other William Odell's listed and to pick one out would just be a guess.

Therefore, our only conclusion is that William came from either Buckinghamshire or Bedfordshire, probably either Salford or Newport Pagnall or close by.

(Citations for the above are The American Genealogist 1937 P224-228 and 1938 P55-57.)

According to TAG Vol7, P12 William Odell, along with Benjamin Turney and many others are on a list of settlers who left Concord and moved to Fairfield. The list is dated 1645 and states that these people had recently moved.

To summarize, William left England by 1639, he lived in Concord and in 1644 or 1645 moved to Fairfield.

We have no record of his wife Rebeccas last name.

5896 Write up by Rachelle Child on familysearch.org tree
According to the book, "Howe Genealogies," originally written by Daniel Wait Howe and edited and re-printed by Gilman Bigelow Howe in 1929, nothing is known about John Howe's life before he surfaces in Sudbury. His wife's first name was Mary, but her last name is unknown. He removed at some point to Marlborough, and he ran a tavern there, in addition to owning a considerable quantity of land. He was in Sudbury as early as 1638 or 1639, and was admitted freeman in 1640. He may have been the first white inhabitant of Marlborough, moving there as early as 1657 or 1658. He lived in Marlborough until his death.
John and Mary had a large family of 11 known children. The first Mary, Daniel, and Alexander died young. The others lived to adulthood:
1. John - 24 August 1640
2. Samuel - 20 October 1642
3. Sarah - 25 September 1644
4. Mary - 18 February 1646
5. Isaac - 8 August 1648
6. Josiah - about 1650
7. Mary - 18 June 1654
8. Thomas - 22 July 1656
9. Daniel - 3 June 1658
10. Alexander - 29 December 1660
11. Eleazer - 18 January 1662
All the children through Daniel were born in Sudbury, and their birth records are attached under Sources below. Alexander and Eleazer were born after the family moved to Marlborough.
John is mentioned repeatedly in the book, "The History of Sudbury, Massachusetts..." (See source below). He is listed on page 26 with the very earliest settlers of Sudbury. He is also listed on page 38 with a small biography, claiming a familial relationship to Sir Charles How of Lancastershire, a claim which appears to be false (see page 1 of the Howe Genealogies). It mentions that John was freeman in 1641, and possibly the first white settler of Marlborough. The author gives his death as 1687, "at which place and about which time his wife died also." This death date appears to be false, both for John and for his wife Mary.
The book, "History of the town of Marlborough, Middlesex county, Massachusetts, from its first settlement in 1657 to 1861; with a brief sketch of the town of Northborough, a genealogy of the families in Marlborough to 1800..." by Charles Hudson (see source below) appears to contain much of the same information as the book regarding the history of Sudbury above. John's "genealogy" information is found on page 380.
John's death is listed in Marlborough Vital Records:
Howe, John Sr., May 28, 1680.
See attached death record under Sources, which has unfortunately been improperly indexed. The original record says John How dyed "28.3.80". Correctly interpreted, this date should be translated to May 28, 1680, because the calendar they used in those days started with March being month 1. Click on the image to see for yourself.
His will was dated a few days before he died, 24 May 1680. Inventory was taken on his estate 5 June 1680. A full transcription of his will can be found on page 4 of the "Howe Genealogies." His son Thomas inherited his dwelling house. In return, Thomas was to care for his mother after his father's death.
There has been quite a bit of confusion about John's birth date. On www.findagrave.com, they have a birth date listed of Nov. 20, 1620 in Hadnall, Shropshire, England. While there is a baptism date for a man named John Howe in England at this time, unfortunately there is no way to prove or disprove if this date belongs to this particular John Howe, and John Howe was a very common name. There is no headstone for John, and so why he even has a file on www.findagrave.com, I am not sure. There are also unfortunately other inaccuracies on his www.findagrave file.
There is also attached below a source for an indexed record which appears on ancestry.com, which lists his death date and his wife's name, along with an age of death of 78, which if you do the math would give him a birth year estimate of 1602. Unfortunately, in the original record, WHICH IS ATTACHED BELOW, there is no age at death, so I can't figure out where the "age 78" came from, which makes it, in my opinion, very suspect. The original death record also does not list his wife's name, so this ancestry.com listing is not an indexing of a single record at all, but an unsourced compilation. In my opinion, John Howe's birth year is still unknown due to a lack of sourced, identifiable data. It is not at all uncommon to not know where many of these original settlers came from in England exactly. Sometimes we get lucky and they are mentioned in a will in England, or they came to America in a group, or they are listed with a group on a ship's passenger list. But quite often we just don't know for sure. Occasionally, these early settlers gave a deposition in court where their age is mentioned, which is true of this John's son, but I checked court records in the book "Ages from Court Records 1636 to 1700 Volume I Essex, Middlesex, and Suffolk Counties, Massachusetts" and only someone of the name "John Howe" who was born near 1640 (this John's son) appears.
So, due to the above reasons, an estimated birth year of 1602 is often attached to John. However, that would make him nearly 40 when he married, an estimated 20 years younger than his wife, and 60 years old when his last son was born. This is unlikely. I think it much more likely that he was born around 1615.
direct quote from Hist of Marlborough
"John Howe of Sudbury was one of the petitioners in 1657 for the grant which constituted Marlborough. He was the son of John Howe, supposed to be the John Howe, Esq., who came from Warwickshire in England, and who was a son of John Howe whose brother may have been sir Charles Howe, himself the son of John of Hodinhull. the latter mentioned John of Hodinhull was the first of Hodinhull agrees with the tradition that Charles Howe was of Hodinhull. It is noted that none of the pedigrees of How include a Charles Howe at the right time.
NOTE: The "tradition" that John of Sudbury and Marlborough was the son of a John (or a James) Howe In England has not been proven. The histories of Framingham and Marlborough and the Howe Genealogies all acknowledge this tradition, but also note that all attempts to document it have failed. Extensive research has been performed on both sides of the Atlantic, without result. Mr. Richard Savage of Stratford, Secretary of the Shakespeare Birthplace Association made an investigation of the parishes of Warwickshire, which showed that there were several How's there in the 1580-1588 period, specifically John, Thomas, and Lyman of St. Nicholas Parish. A John How also appeared in records in the same parish for 1608-1609. No records of How's have been found for Hodinhull or Hodnet in Warwickshire or Hodnall in Shropshire. The Warwickshire Baptism Index, available through FindMyPast.com shows a John How , son of John How, baptized in St. Nicholas parish In Warwick on 15 Nov 1624. If he was born that year, becoming a Selectman in Sudbury in 1642 Is questionable. Any attempt to equate John of Marlborough with Warwickshire How's is speculative and conjecture at best.
Note: The history and sources for John Howe's family in Sudbury and Marlborough and beyond are all well documented. But information on his date of birth, birthplace in England, parentage, siblings, and the last name at birth of his wife Mary are all based on less solid information and matching based on name similarities, at best. This information cannot be considered confirmed.

Careful. There seem to be several John Baldwins in early colonial New England. He is not John Baldwin of Billerica.

This John Baldwin is not the child of Sylvester Baldwin-129 and Sarah Bryan-33. Please use care in merging

Needs Research
I cleaned up the easy parts (everything below the double line) His birth, parents, immigration "Martin?" There is a list of references used by Torrey under "Marriage 2"

Disputed Origins
An unsouced, undated family tree[1] claims without citation that he was born 24 Jun 1619 in Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England. Additional sources also make this claim.[2][3][4][5][6]

John Baldwin, Senior; of Milford Connecticut, is believed to be connected to the Baldwins of Bucks Co., England, but where he fits in still unclear. Some believe he was the John Baldwin, who in 1638. aboard the ship Martin, witnessed Sylvester Baldwins will, and was traveling with Sylvester's family; believing him to have been a cousin or possibly nephew[7]

See "Parents" below for a discussion.

Biography
John Baldwin was born about 1619 in England. His specific origins are not yet known.

Emigration
Sylvester Baldwin and his family sailed from London aboard the ship Martin. While onboard Sylvester made his nuncupative will 21 June 1638. It was probated in Boston 13 July 1638. The will was witnessed by Chad Brown, Francis Bolt, James Weedon and John Baldwin, placing an adult John Baldwin aboard the ship also. Some say that this was this John Baldwin who settled in Milford because Sylvester's widow and children and also Francis Bolt settled in Milford, Connecticut.[8][9]

Milford Settler

"Milford 1646"
In February, 1639, Milford, Conn. was purchased from the Indians. John's name appears after the Nov 29, 1639 list of "free" planters, as he was considered a "settler" because he was not a church member. However, he joined the church March 19, 1648.[10][11][12]

John Baldwin was the only tailor in the beginning of the settlement.[13]

His homestead was original lot #13, in Milford, on west side of the river. A little north west of the town hall, on the premises now or lately occupied by Rev. Asa M. Train (1881). He moved to Newark, New Jersey a year or after 1666, but returned to Milford. In his 1680 will, he appointed cousin Nicholas Camp as overseer of his estate, term "cousin" applied to wife's uncle is unusual, but cousin used to denote almost any relationship that was not immediate.[14][7]

In 1654, he was Marshall to the New Haven General Court.[15] He was a Sargent in the Milford trainband in 1658.[16]

Death & Probate
John was buried June 21, 1681,[12] probably in the Milford Cemetery[17][18][19] The picture on Find A Grave: Memorial #28224710 is of the Founders Cemetery Memorial Site aka Memorial Bridge

His will dated May 24, 1681[20] mentions eleven children surviving him:[21][22]

John (eldest)
Josiah
Nathaniel
Joseph
Elizabeth Porter
Abigail
Sarah
Hannah
George
Obadiah
Richard
His inventory was taken on 5 July 1681 and recorded in New Haven.[20]

His name is on a memorial stone on the Bridge over the Wepawaug River in Milford, Conn[17]

Family
He married first (in Milford) about 1639 MARY CAMP, daughter of NICHOLAS CAMP and SARAH ELLIOTT. She was born Abt. 1619 in Hazing, Essex, England, and died Abt. 1652 in Milford, Connecticut.[23]

John married second Mary (Bruen) Baldwin, of Pequot, daughter of Obadiah[24] NOTE she was NOT the daughter of John of Bruen, Stapleford, Cheshire, England as cited by many sources (John Sr. of Milford married Mary Brewen, d. John Aug 15 [-----] (alternate Marie Brewer))[11] (prob. 1653) [25][21] See the Jacobus article for more information.

Mary wife John adm. church 30 April 1654[12]

She died 2 Sept 1670[11][12][21]

We know that these records have some errors. It has been concluded that Mary was a dtr of Obadiah and Sarah (bpt. St Julians, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England 12 Jun 1634) rather than dtr of John. See pp. 247, 248 of the Ackley-Bosworth Genealogy.[23]

Children
By first wife Mary born and bapt. in Milford. First four were bapt. on the same day, a week after John was admitted to the church.

John Baldwin, b. abt 1640 in Milford[27], baptized March 26, 1648;[11]
Josiah Baldwin, b. abt. 1642;[27] bapt. March 26, 1648;[11] (possibly born 20 Mar 1642[citation needed]) m. Mary Camp[11]
Samuel Baldwin, b. 1645;[27] bapt. March 26, 1648;[12] not mentioned in his father's will made in 1681. CC Baldwin says (citing letter from Judge Simeon Baldwin) that a Samuel Baldwin was drowned in Fairfield in 1673, leaving a family in Milford; who must be the Samuel Baldwin estate was appraised at Milford in 1673, leaving a home lot sold by his widow to Alexander Bryan, as appears by Bryan's will dated July 22, 1679; and is mentioned by his brother Joseph in a deed 1696; Joseph being co-heir of their father's estate, John Baldwin of Milford deceased, a part of the estate of his brother Samuel, deceased; and based on baptismal records for Samuel and some of his siblings, an entry was made deceased, Jan 16 1671/2.[10]
Nathaniel Baldwin, b. 1648;[27] and bapt. March 26, 1648;[12] Nathaneil d. 16 Jan 1671[12] Apparently an error since he was having children in 1676.[10]
Elizabeth Baldwin, bapt. July 19, 1649; m. Porter[10] bpt July *1649 (*worn) [12]
Joseph Baldwin, bapt. Nov 9, 1651[12]
By second wife born and baptized in Milford

Sarah Baldwin b: 25 Dec 1655[11] bp 30 Dec 1655[12] died bef 1681[10]
Abigail Baldwin, b. Nov 15, 1658;[11] bpt March 27, 1659[10]; bpt Apr 1659[12] m. Samuel Baldwin, son of Nathaniel.[10]
Obadiah Baldwin b: 29 Oct 1660 in Milford,[11]

Hannah, b. Nov 20 1663; m. Jan 17, 1681/2, Dr. John Fisk[10] I suppose Hannah is the Samuel mentioned above. bpt 28 Oct 1666, b. 20 Nov 1663[12] She was named in his will, Samuel was not.[22]
Richard Baldwin b: 27 Sep 1666 in Milford, New Haven, CT[11] Richard s of sister Baldwin, the w. of John Baldwin son bpt 30 Dec 1666[12]
Research Notes
There is no evidence that John ever had a third wife named Sarah, and Sarah (Baldwin) Young has been detached as his spouse as she was born 40 years after his death. Stevens-17832 21:55, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
Conflicting Parental Theories
There is conflict regarding John Baldwin's parents. Two possibilities have been presented. Neither appears to be valid.
1. Sylvester Baldwin and Sarah Bryan. This can be discounted due to Sylvester's son John's age at his death

Sylvester Baldwin (b. 1595 at Cholesbury, Bucks, Eng. - died aboard ship, "Martin" on 21 Jun 1638, but not before he made out a will (oral) which was later proved 13 Jul 1638 before Deputy Gov. Dudley in Mass., making Sarah, his wife, and Richard, his son, executors of his estate.) He had m. about 1620, Sarah Bryan (born 1592 in Aston Clinton, Bucks, Eng..) Their first son was Richard Baldwin, b. 25 Aug 1622.
Sylvester and Sarah had a son John BALDWIN, born 28 Oct 1634, and was baptized at Aston-Clinton, Bucks, Eng., Considering that Sylvester Baldwin died: 21 Jun 1638 at sea. This would have made son John Baldwin about age 4 if he "witnessed" [17] father Sylvester Baldwin's nonculpative will during the voyage. Further, this John Baldwin would have been about 8 years of age at his supposed marriage to Mary Camp and about 9/10 years old at the birth of John Baldwin, baptized 26 March 1643 Milford, CT. This is not logical, and demonstrates that the John Baldwin that witnessed Sylvester Baldwin's will was not Sylvester's son[28]. However, the John Baldwin that accompanied Sylvester may have been a kinsman[29], and may be the John Baldwin that married Mary Camp. Sylvester's natural son John Baldwin b. 28 Oct 1634 at Eng., bapt. 28 Oct 1635, m. Rebecca Palmer Cheesebrough, and d. 9 Aug 1683 at Stonington, CT.
2. Richard Baldwin, m. Phillipa Cockman at Aston Clinton, Bucks., Eng..

Son John Baldwin MAY have been born 19 Feb 1614/15, the second son and fourth child of Richard Baldwin and Phillippa Cockman, at Aston Clinton, Bucks., Eng. Ref. Aston Clinton Register of Births, Marriages and Burials 1560-1722 (Located in the CRO, Aylesbury, Bucks., England.): "1614/5 John ye sonne of Richard Baldwin Bapt. Februarie 19th."
This John Baldwin came to America in July, 1635, on the ship "The Pied Cow", with his brother William and possibly a brother Henry.[citation needed] John and Henry were early settlers of Woburn, MA. John moved to Billerica, MA. in 1655/57. He lived on the west side of Long Street, north of Jonathan Danforth's house. He was a member of James Paterson's Garrison #6, in 1675.
The Will of John Baldwin, of Billerica, Middlesex, Massachusetts, dated 11 November 1686, was witnessed by Henry Baldwin, James Convers and John Manning.
This proves that John Baldwin, of Billerica, Middlesex, Ma, son of Richard and Phillipa Cockman, was not the John Baldwin, Founder of Milton, CT. who died there 21 Jun 1681.[30]

Does anyone have other candidates for John's Parentage?

John Hubball was at New Haven in 1647, and purchased the land and accommodations of John Baldwin 16 Oct 1660. Baldwin Genealogy by Frank Boyd Baldwin: fifteen descendants of Richard Baldwin of Dundridge, left England about 1 May 1638 and landed at Boston, Essex, Massachusetts about 1 July 1638; Those descendants are listed as follows: Sarah Bryan Baldwin, Sarah Baldwin, Richard Baldwin, Mary Baldwin, John Baldwin, John Baldwin, sr. (d: 1681, my ancestor), Anne Baldwin Bryant, Alex Bryant, Richard Bryant, Susanna Bryant, Joanne Bryant, Henry Stonehill (son of Agnes Baldwin), Timothy Baldwin, Nathaniel Baldwin & Joseph Baldiwn. Sylvester Baldwin, who died enroute and was buried at sea, was the sixteenth descendant who embarked on that voyage
Notes on the Baldwin Family: Honorable John D. Baldwin, of Worcester, a descendant of Sylvestor Baldwin the immigrant who died at sea, through John of Stonington, says that in a family bible which he has seen, though now destroyed, it was stated that John of Stonington and John (our John) of Norwich were cousins. In the Norwich family it was a tradition that their ancestor, (our John Baldwin) came from the same stock as John of Stonington, and that their ancestor came over with relatives, not his parents. (He did come over with relatives, an uncle Sylvestor Baldwin , who died at sea!) The John who came with Sylvester was probably the John of Milford; It cold not be his son John, whatever his age at the time, because as a witness he would have been unable to take any interest under the will;
Revised Baldwin Genealogy, vol 3: John arrived in Connecticut in 1639 with other settlers with the New Haven Company. He came to New England with other close Baldwin relatives, and was probably a cousin or a nephew of Sylvester Baldwin, (he was a nephew), who died aboard the ship. Martin, in June of 1638. John was witness to the Nuncupative will of his uncle Sylvester in the Massachusetts court shortly after his arrival in Boston of that year. In February of 1639, Milford was purchased of the Indians and the Conn. settlement was made during the year. John removed to Newark, N. Jersey a year or two after 1666 with many other Milford townsmen, including his son John; but he soon returned to his homestead on Milford lot No. 13, located on the west side of the River, a little northwest of the town hall.
Will of John Baldiwn' dated 24 May 1681: gives to sons John (eldest), Josiah, Nathaniel and Joseph; Dau. Elizabeth Porter; Dau. Abigail Baldwin, two daughters Sarah and Hannah; Sons George, Obediah (no doubt named after the father of his (2) wife Mary Bruen) and Richard. In February of 1639, Milford was purchased of the Indians and the Conn. settlement was made during the year. His name does not appear on the list of Free Planters drawn up on 29 Nov. 1639, as he was not a church member. His name is appended as among the settlers, but not a voting member in the colony.

Mary was a daughter of Nicholas Camp and his first wife, Sarah (Unknown) Camp.[1][2] The exact date of her birth is unknown, although it was probably after 1621 when her parents were thought to have been married. Her father, Nicholas, first appeared in a listing of free planters at Milford, Connectict on 20 November 1639[3] and it is believed that he brought his wife Sarah and their children with him to New England.

Marriage and Children
Mary Camp married John Baldwin sometime before 1640 at Milton, New Haven, Connecticut.[4][2] There were at least six children from this marriage, the first four all baptised on 26 March 1648 in Milford, one week after John Baldwin joined the Milford Church:[5]

John Baldwin; b. 1640; m (1) 30 Oct 1663 Hannah Bruen;[6][7] m (2) Bef.1686 Ruth Botsford;[6][8] d. 31 Aug 1706, Newark, Essex, New Jersey[9]
Josiah Baldwin; b. 20 Mar 1642, Milford, New Haven, Connecticut; m. 25 Jun 1667 Mercy (or Mary) Camp;[10][11] d. Bef. 2 Nov 1683, Milford, New Haven, Connecticut[10][12]
Samuel Baldwin;b. c.1645; m. Rebecca (Phippen) Prince; [12][13] d. 16 Jan 1671/2[12][13] [see research notes]
Nathaniel Cooper Baldwin; b. c.1648, Milford, Connecticut;[14] m. Bef. 1676 Sarah Phippen;[12][15] d. c.1717[12]
Elizabeth Baldwin; bp. 19 Aug 1649;[12][16] m. c.1673 Nathaniel Porter;[12][17] d. 6 Feb 1684, Stratford, Fairfield, Connecticut[17]
Joseph Baldwin; bp. 9 Nov 1651, Milford, New Haven, Connecticut;[18][10][12][19] m.c.1690 Elizabeth Botsford;[12][2] d. 1719[10][12]
Death
The exact date of Mary (Camp) Baldwin's death is unknown, but must have occurred sometime after 1651 (when her youngest son was born) and 15 August 1652 when her husband married (second) Mary Bruen.[5]

Research Notes
Son Samuel's death:
Samuel's death on 19 Jan 1671/2 was entered a line too low after his brother Nathaniel's baptism record, and the person transcribing the record assumed in error that it was a record of Nathaniel's death. It actually applied to Samuel, who drowned near Fairfield, and whose widow subsequently sold their home lot in Milford.[20][12] Nathaniel survived his father and was mentioned in his father's will, and had children as early as 1676.[20]
