  The Billings Gazette, (MT.) 12/27/1993 Monday Page 10 Herman Becker BALLANTINE, MT. ---- Herman Becker, age 81, of Ballantine, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 25, 1993, at Deaconess Medical Center. He was born Jan. 12, 1912, in Lincoln, NB., the son of Jacob and Elizabeth Becker. He came with his parents to the Huntley Project, MT., in 1920. He married Lydia Johannes on April 22, 1938, and they raised beets and cattle until 1950, when they started a dairy business with registered Guernsey cattle. He was an active part of the dairy business until 1989. Herman was a member of the Bethlehem Congregational Church in Worden, MT., and the American Guernsey Cattle Club. He loved to hunt and fish in his younger years. Survivors include his son, Russell and wife Judy Beck of Ballantine; grandchildren, Dannell Stengem and husband, Christopher of Issaquah, WA. Dean Becker and Gretchen Becker of Ballantine,; one great grandson, Erik Stengem; and one sister, bertha Kaufman of Billings, MT. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia, on Nov. 6, 1991; a sister, Katie Haupt; five brothers, John, Jake, Sam. and Edward. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the Bethlehem Congregational Church in Worden, MT. Interment will be in the Pleasntview Cemetery, Ballantine, MT. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial may be made to he Bethlehem Congregational Church in Worden, MT., or the American Diabetes Association, Billings, MT.
