  According to Dr. Pleve's letter of 15.09.1997, Johannes Reifschneider, was orphaned during his way from Oranienbaum (near St. Petersberg) to the Volga region. He was adopted by the family of Johann Heinrich Weber, who settled in the Norka colony. Johannes married Maragaretha Schweitzer of Kukkus, and moved to Kukkus. Pleve states that Margaretha's parents were Johann Friedrich Schweitzer and Catharina. The above letter was provided with Dr. Pleve's Kukkus Reifschneider chart. It should be noted that Johannes Reifschneider's last name was misspelled in translation of the AHSGR 1775 Norka census.---Per Frank Schlegel
