My mother, Anna Sperl, was born April 7, 1859. They were married on Nov 12, 1881, in Stahl. They had a family of 12 children, four of showm died as infants. Five of these children were born in Stahl, John, (1881-1885), John Conrad, (1883-1887), Amalia, (1886-1887) Conrad, (1888-1951), John Peter, (1890-1978). Dad immigrated to Lincoln in late 1891. His first job was in a meat packing plant. He sent for Mother and three children early in 1892. Edward was born in Feb 1892, on the Atlantic Ocean, American Side and he died in Nov 1966 in Kerrobert. The following children were born in Lincoln: August (1894-1895), Catherine (1895-1938), in New Westminster, BC; John (1897-1963), in Omaha, NE; Amelia (1898-1899), Emilie, born August 1900; Daniel (1903-1946. Dad joined the Luse Land Co, in 1908 to encourage new settlers to homestead in thie area. In 1909 Dad and his son, Edward, came to Luseland to apply for their homesteads. They settled on the land NE 32-36-24-W3. In the fall of 1917 he sold this section to Isaac Kelly for $30 per acre, far from what land sells for today. In spring of 1918 he bought a quarter, on section 20-36-24-W3 from Sam Abbott. XXXXX Dad was a councillor for the R.M. of Progress for several years. He passed away July 18, 1938.
