orn on April 11, 1758 or 1760 in Farmingham, at Hartford County, Conn. And lived there at his enlistment May, 1776 in Colonel Douglass' Regiment and was in the battle on Long Island August 27, 1776, then in the midnight retreat to New York City, thence to Harlem, where he was in another battle October 12, 1776, and also White Plains October 28, 1776 where he was wounded in the left thigh. Think this is "Ebenezer" whose record is : Pvt. 1776, Capt. Matthew Mead's Company, Col. David Waterbury's Regt. Connecticut Troops. His wife was Sarah Ives. In 1788 he moved to Whitestown near Utica, New York, for ten years, then to Onondaga County, New York. In 1807 he moved to Sandusky, Ohio, for three years, then St. Louis, Missouri. Finally in 1821 he moved to Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. On September 8, 1821, he filed for a pension in Butler County, Ohio, at which time he had a wife aged 40. He later applied for a pension on September 4, 1832. In an old Cincinnati directory e was boarding with Dr. Barnes in 1831 where he had charge of a pest house.
