  Catherine “Clara” Heinrich, 92, of Au Gres, passed away Feb. 14, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. Clara was born July 20, 1922, in Tawas City to the late Harry and Lillian (Wickland) Bolen. Clara grew up in Alabaster when the gypsum business was flourishing. She had many fond memories of the area. Clara married Alvin Heinrich on Oct. 24, 1945, and together they raised six children, Phillip, Deborah, Mary Jane, David, Carol and Kevin. She graduated from Bay City Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Standish Community Hospital for several years before working as a public health nurse for Arenac County until her retirement. Clara’s faith was important to her throughout her life. She was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Au Gres throughout her married life. She enjoyed homemaking, playing cards, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Clara is survived by her five children, Phillip (Judy) Heinrich, Deborah Smith, Mary Jane (David) Hock, David (Sandy) Heinrich, Carol (Clifford) Litwiller; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five sisters. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 2012; and son, Kevin. Visitation for Clara will take place 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at the Buresh Funeral Home - Au Gres. There will be a scripture service at 8 p.m. led by Carol Hale. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at St. Mark Catholic Church. Clara will lie in state at church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. Fr. Gerald Balwinski will officiate with interment following in Linwood Cemetery.
