Kansas City Star, The (MO) - Saturday, June 22, 1996
William H. Pugh, 76, Sugar Creek, MO, passed away June 20, 1996, at Columbia Independence Regional Health Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, a t Speaks Midtown Chapel; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, at the chapel.
Family suggests contributions to the Hospice of Independence Regional Health Center.
Mr. Pugh was born in Denton, TX, and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a Maintenance Worker for the Chrysler Corporation Parts Department, retiring in 1974. He was an Elder in the RLDS Church, attending the Parkview Congregation and, previously, the Mt. Washington Congregation. He was Scout Master at Mt. Washington RLDS church, as well as a Scout Leader at the McCune Home for Boys. He served on the training committee of the Wagon Wheel District and was a warrior i n the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He served his country during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart while on Active Duty in France. He is survived by his wife, Doris, of the home; one son, William H. Pugh, Jr., Independence, MO; three daughters, Marian Conye rs, Independence, Carol Ann O'Dell, Kearney, MO, and Norma Pritchett, Graham, NC; his mother, Pearl Pugh, Independence; two brothers, Virgil F. Pugh, Independence, Jack A. Pugh, Sugar Creek; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. (Arrangements: Spea ks Midtown Chapel)
