    Notes:

    DNA analysis of John Cory descendants shows a haplogroup of R1a which is commonly found in Eastern Europe and more remotely between the Black and Caspian Seas. The same analysis shows that the lines of Thomas Cory of Chelmsford and William Cory of Portsmouth are not related. (Cory Family Society Newsletter February 2007)

    The Grate Book (Great Book)
    John Cory's mother gave him a copy of a book by Rev. Richard Rogers. A treatise on the bible. John transported the book across the Atlantic Ocean in 1640. He willed the book to his son John Cory, who willed it to his son John Cory. It continued to be passed from father to son as follows: Elnathan Cory, Ebenezer Cory, Elnathan Cory, John Cory, Elnathan Cory, William Smith Cory, Sidney Cory and Sidney gave it to his daughter Mae Cory Vicroy of Salem, Ohio who holds the book today, over 350 years after the book was given to John by his mother.
