The groom's surname is spelled Laurence, the bride's is spelled Riete or Rietc, the bride's father's given name is Philip, which was actually the name of an elder brother, the bride's mother's maiden name is Layman, and the record indicates that the license itself had not been returned as of Mar 1909, fully 13 months later. Tthe couple is enumerated in the 1910 Michigan Census under the surname Lawrence and indicaed as married 2 years. It is assumed that marriage did take place on the basis of this license, as the later divorce record gives the date of marriage as 21 Feb 1908.
