    1950 - 2013

    Funeral Service for Joy Lynn Voiles will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 at The Powder River Community Center in Arvada, Wyoming with Pastor Bob Moore officiating. Burial will take place on Jeff and Joy's ranch followed by a reception at the Powder River Community Center in Arvada. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Gillette Memorial Chapel. Joy passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013, surrounded by family in San Antonio, Texas while on vacation.

    A Wyoming native, Joy was the youngest of six children born to Frank and Ollie Kane in Douglas, WY on December 10, 1950. She grew up and went to school in Gillette, WY until she married Claude Voiles in July of 1967. The couple moved to the Ranch at Arvada and she graduated from Arvada High School in 1968. Joy and Claude had two children, Tiffany Ann (1971) and Samuel Matt (1974). In 1978, Joy and Jeff Sorenson began their life together and were later married in October, 1998. The two spent their lives living and working the Middle Prong Land and Livestock Ranch while raising children, chasing grandchildren and donating time to the Arvada Community.

    Joy enjoyed sewing, photography and traveling. She spent several years happily following children and grandchildren around the state in their various sporting and schooling events. She rarely missed an opportunity to show her support and take pictures. She was a very active member of the Arvada Community and was the go-to person if an event needed organized or someone needed help.

    Joy is survived by her husband, Jeff Sorenson of Arvada, WY; her children Tiffany (Mike) Greear of Worland, Matt (Patsy) Voiles of Gillette, six grandchildren Seth Greear, Taylor Greear, Ian Voiles, Lane Voiles, Trevor Voiles and Grady Voiles. Two sisters, Myra Addison of Gillette and Kathleen (Clark) Reynolds of Gillette. Sister-in- law Patsy Kane of Cave Creek AZ. Nieces and nephews Rusty Allee, Jack Allee, Echo Allee, Rodney (RJ) Addison, Collie Jo (Bob) Addison, Frank Reynolds, Quent (Kathy) Reynolds, Tessa (Twister) Cain, Tachana (Dennis) Petty, Trey McCurley, Te'Atta McCurley and numerous great nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Ollie Kane, Sisters Mary Zoe Allee and Karen McCurley, Brother Frank Kane, Brother-in-laws Rodney Addison and Doyle McCurley.

    A memorial has been established in Joy's name to benefit the Powder River Community Center. Donations and condolences may be sent to the family in care of Gillette memorial Chapel 210 West Fifth Street Gillette, WY 82716.
