  JDS Notes- A note in the transcription of the 1886 Lauwe family lists indicates that he was drafted into the military in 1899 and subsequently discharged. He and his wife, his mother, and two children sailed on the SS Gunther from Santos, Brazil on 16 May 1907 and arrived at NY, USA on 10 Jun 1907. Their last residence was Buenos Aires, Argentina. Birthplace for him, his mother, and elder child was Lauwe, for his wife it was Kukkus, and for the younger child Libau. His contact in the USA was his brother (also indicated as the son of his mother) Conrad Kuhn in Fresno, CA.
