Frieda A. Milano, 101, of Midland, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Stratford Pines Nursing Home. The daughter of the late Peter and Amelia (Noeske) Dittenber was born Jan. 31, 1917 in Detroit. The family moved to Midland when Frieda was 5 years old. She graduated from Midland High School in 1935. Frieda married F. John Milano in Saginaw, Nov. 4, 1939. After 46 years of marriage, John preceded her in death in 1985. Prior to her marriage, Frieda had worked for Michigan Bell and later for Valley Office Supply. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, the Ladies Guild, was an avid bowler, enjoyed baking, crocheting, sewing, yardwork and flowers.

Mrs. Milano is survived by sons-in-law, Buddy Seymour, Edward Naretto; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Dittenber and Jean Meddaugh; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Frieda was preceded in death by her daughters, Marilyn Seymour and Toni Ann Naretto; brothers, Merlin, Bernard and Arthur Dittenber; sisters, Adeline Bradshaw and Elsie Schlagrait.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Deacon Gary Lyvere officiating. Visitation will be at the CHURCH on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place 1:30 p.m. at Midland Memorial Gardens. Elsie I. (Dittenber) Schlagrait, 90, of Midland, died on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at Tendercare Nursing Home.
The daughter of the late Amelia Dittenber was born on Oct. 16, 1920 in Au Gres, MI. She was raised in Midland and graduated from Midland High in 1938. She sang in the Dow Girls\' Chorus while employed at Dow Chemical Co. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, active in choir, Ladies Guild and LWML. She volunteered at Mid Michigan Medical Center for 38 years.
She is survived by daughters, Joyce (Joseph) Tafel of Midland and Janet (Edy) Maeder of Dwight, IL; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Mark Tafel, Erik Maeder and Pamela (Allen) Rotert; and sister Frieda Milano.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Otto, her parents, brothers Arthur, Bernard and Merlin Dittenber and sister Adeline Bradshaw.
A Funeral Service was held at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 with Reverend Larry Wright officiating. Interment followed at Midland Memorial Gardens.
